Jay Morris

Jay was called as the Senior Pastor of First Baptist Church of Whitney on January 6, 2019. Jay has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biblical Studies from Criswell College and is currently in pursuit of a Masters of Divinity Degree from Southwestern Theological Seminary. He is married to Kerrie Morris. They have two daughters and two grandchildren.

Maggie Smith - Children's Ministry

Maggie Smith

Maggie was born and raised in Sikeston, Missouri. She graduated from Southeast Missouri State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with an emphasis in clinical counseling. About nine years ago, she moved to Texas. She taught Special Education in the public school system for five years before moving to Whitney. Maggie is also a published author, and she has two new books coming out this year. After joining First Baptist Church, Maggie felt the call to children’s ministry. She is grateful for the opportunity to serve the children in her community, and she cannot wait to see what God has in store for First Baptist Church.
